David Beckham is said to keen to bring his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos to Inter Miami.

Ramos is out of contact with Real in the summer and a host of clubs are interested in the centre-back's services.

That includes Beckham's MLS franchise, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Beckham spent two years playing with Ramos in the Spanish capital before leaving for LA Galaxy in 2007.

The former Manchester United winger founded Inter Miami and co-owns the club, and a deal to take Ramos to south Florida would be a major coup. He can sign a pre-contract deal in January with clubs from outside Spain.

Beckham has already signed Juventus duo Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi but needs a further injection of class after a mixed season.

Ramos joined Real in 2005 and his boss Zinedine Zidane is confident the 34-year-old defender will extend his stay at the Bernabeu.

"He is our captain, our leader," said Zidane.

"We want him here forever. I have no doubt that he will stay and continue to make history."

Ramos has won 22 trophies for Real Madrid since he arrived at the club from Sevilla.

He notched his 100th goal for Madrid with a trademark header in the 3-2 Champions League win over Inter Milan last week to become the highest-scoring defender in Real's history.

"It's not bad," said Ramos after hitting the milestone at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium, Real's temporary home and training ground.

"Individual records are secondary, but you like hitting them and as long as they keep on helping the side win, hopefully I can get a few more."

He's certainly lost none of his passion and was caught on camera tearing into former teammate Achraf Hakimi during the clash with Inter.

When Hakimi went down in the box looking for a penalty Real skipper Ramos immediately let his displeasure known.

''Get up you son of a b***h, get up! Stop screaming like a rat," Ramos said, while trying to haul Hakimi back to his feet.

Meanwhile, Ramos has been voted the greatest centre-back ever in a new poll.

More than 130,000 votes were cast as Marca readers were asked to name the best ever central defender from nine candidates.

Ramos earned a massive 74% of all votes, with Franz Beckenbauer trailing way behind in second on 18%.
