Chelsea Are Worried "Best In The World" Star Won't Renew His Contract, It's Up Next Summer

Chelsea are currently sweating over the future of Antonio Rudiger as the defender is yet to sign a new deal.

The Germany international become a key player under Thomas Tuchel after being frozen out by former manager Frank Lampard.

Rudiger helped the Blues to Champions League glory last campaign and has started every game this season.

It has been reported in The Telegraph that talks of a £140,000-a-week have stalled, with Rudiger wanting more ahead of his contract expiring in 2022.

Rudiger believes his form since Tuchel's arrival in January warrants more recognition.

The 28-year-old currently earns around £100,000-per-week but he could earn double that by moving on a free transfer.

European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all sized up a move.

Chelsea would likely have to make Rudiger one of their top earners with Romelu Lukaku, N'Golo Kante and Timo Werner, who all earn over £200,000-per-week.

The summer saw Chelsea make a move for Sevilla youngster Jules Kounde after selling Kurt Zouma to West Ham United.

Sevilla were reportedly holding out for £68.5 million and Chelsea refused to improve their initial bid of £42.8 million.

Rudiger has been in the news recently for hilariously calling out EA Sports over his FIFA 22 stats.

He's been given a respectable overall rating of 83, boasting 84 physical and defending.

But he's taken exception to his pace being just 75.

On Twitter, the former Roma man wrote: "Come on @EASPORTSFIFA ... 35,8 km/h top speed on the pitch and only 75 pace in FIFA22?!."

He added: "What do I need to get around 90 pace? 50 km/h?"

Do you think Antonio Rudiger will leave Chelsea next summer?
