Barcelona Pulled Out Of Deal For Cedric Bakambu While He Was Flying To Spain

Cedric Bakambu has hilariously responded to Barcelona pulling the plug on his transfer - while he was travelling to Spain.
Barcelona had reportedly agreed a deal with Chinese club Beijing Guoan to take Bakambu on loan for the rest of the season.

The Congolese international had to catch two flights to reach Spain as he was in South Korea.
Bakambu had made it to Hong Kong before receiving a phone call from Barca's Sporting Director Eric Abidal.
Abidal explained that the deal was off, and Bakambu took to Twitter to poke fun at the situation.
Yo @Transfermarkt change my transfer history with "Almost @FCBarcelona" please :joy:
No matter what happens we trust the process.
Thank God for everything
See you an other time @AntoGriezmann :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: https://t.co/eeOzZMU7V2

Bakambu tweeted statistics website Transfermarkt to ask if he could have 'Almost Barcelona' in his transfer history.
The site replied in good humour and sent an edited page with Barcelona in the 28-year-old's list of clubs.

He also tagged Blaugrana forward Antoine Griezmann and said he would 'see him another time'.
The duo played together at youth level in the French national team.
Not signing Bakambu likely means that Quique Setien's side won't be adding a forward to their ranks in this transfer window.
Luis Suarez is out for up to four months after tearing his meniscus.
The La Liga side have been looking for a striker all month and have been linked with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang and Lautaro Martinez.
They've also been linked with an audacious £85 million bid for Everton striker Richarlison.

Barca have been using Griezmann up front in recent games and it paid off in last night's 5-0 victory over Leganes in the Copa Del Ray.
Griezmann opened the scoring within the first five minutes before Clement Lenglet doubled their lead.
The second half became the Lionel Messi show as the Argentine netted two goals, taking him to 500 goals as well as 500 wins.
:goat: Lionel Messi reached two more amazing milestones for Barcelona last night.

Arthur Melo completed the romp just less than 15 minutes from time.
