Wantaway Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich in a swap deal involving Corentin Tolisso.

Ndombele, Spurs' record signing, didn't play a minute of pre-season and hasn't been part of new boss Nuno Espirito Santo's squad in the opening two matches of the new campaign.

The Frenchman has also been left out of the Tottenham party that travel to Wolves on Sunday.

According to Sky Germany, Ndombele is thought to have asked Spurs if he can leave, with Barcelona and Bayern said to be monitoring the situation.

The German giants have now made a tentative enquiry for Ndombele in a £20m deal that would see Tolisso head the other way.

Ndombele joined Spurs from Lyon in July 2019 for £54m and has four years left on his contract.

However, the 24-year-old has struggled to find his feet in north London, turning in a series of underwhelming performances.

Asked why Ndombele hadn't been included in the trip to Wolves, Nuno said:

"What happened in the past I can't even think about, I don't mention out of respect.

"What I can tell you is that Tanguy is with us, he works but we have to speak honestly and to take the best out of Tanguy [it] has to come from himself.

"I don't want to go much further than that, but it has to come from himself.

"We already had a chance to talk but it must come from himself.

"I said it before, my job here is not to convince players to play for Tottenham Hotspur, it is to prepare players to play for Tottenham.

"[Ndombele] wasn't part of the squad in the Conference League because he wasn't included in the list. Tanguy will not be involved on Sunday."

Midfielder Tolisso, capped 27 times by France, is out of contract at Bayern next summer and looks unlikely to pen a new deal.

He could sign a pre-contract with a club this winter and has been linked with Manchester United and West Ham.
