The world's most valuable footballers born after 1 January 2000 have been revealed - with four English players making the top 10.

The experts at CIES Football Observatory have assessed the valuations - and the 20-year-old at the top of the list is given an eye-watering price tag of $180 million (or £132 million). Ouch.

Alphonso Davies is No 1 in the CIES list, which may be a surprise to some fans. A key part of Bayern Munich's 2019/20 Treble triumph, the Canadian wing-back is a sensational player boasting incredible dribbling ability, vision and physical attributes.

But generally strikers or out-and-out attacking players command the biggest fees in football. So it's curious - or just a testament to Davies's quality - that the likes of Erling Haaland are below him.

Norwegian goal machine Haaland has scored an incredible 24 in 27 games for Borussia Dortmund since his arrival in January. Yet the 20-year-old is only fourth on this list with an estimated value of $120 million (approximately £92 million).

Ahead of him sit Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati, who only turned 18 in October, and Haaland's Borussia teammate Jadon Sancho.

The long-rumoured Manchester United target is second on the list to Davies, with a value of $125 million (around £96 million, but you try extracting that from Ed Woodward's pocket).

Sancho is also one of four English players on the list, highlighting the crop of youthful talent coming through for Gareth Southgate to call on (or totally ignore) in the future.

Man United striker Mason Greenwood is fifth, Arsenal's rising star Bukayo Saka sits in seventh spot, while Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is ninth. No doubt super-fan Pep Guardiola would be moving him up eight places.

Man City have another player in the top 10 in the form of Spanish winger Ferran Torres. Swedish ace Dejan Kulusevski of Juventus and Real Madrid's Brazilian teenager Rodrygo make up the rest of the list.

The full top 10 ranking is below.

10. Rodrygo ($69.9 million)

9. Phil Foden ($70.3 million)

8. Dejan Kulusevski ($75.1 million)

7. Bukayo Saka ($95.8 million)

6. Ferran Torres ($106 million)

5. Mason Greenwood ($115.3 million)

4. Erling Haaland ($120.3 million)

3. Ansu Fati ($122.7 million)

2. Jadon Sancho ($125.6 million)

1. Alphonso Davies (£180.4 million)
