Robert Lewandowski has named Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez as one of his top five strikers in the world currently. Suarez joined Atletico from Barcelona on a free transfer.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is arguably the best player in the world currently, let alone the best striker.

Lewandowski was the main-man in Bayern's 2019/20 treble-winning campaign, scoring 55 goals and creating 10 assists for Hansi Flick's team.

Ahead of the Bundesliga restart, Lewandowski was asked to pick the best strikers in the world right now.

The Polish international didn't hesitate to name Luis Suarez among his five chosen ones.

"It's not a simple question. If we're talking about strikers as pure No.9s, like classic centre-forwards, I'd pick Karim Benzema, Timo Werner, Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero and Kylian Mbappe."

Suarez left Barcelona for Atletico Madrid in the current transfer window on a free transfer after Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman said he would not feature in his plans for the upcoming season.

The Uruguayan striker already has two goals to his name for Atletico after coming off-the-bench to bag a brace against Granada on Sunday.

Suarez is the only player since the 2009-10 season, besides Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, to have won the European Golden Shoe.

He shared the award with Ronaldo in the 2013-14 season as they both scored 31 goals and got his second one after scoring 40 league goals in the 2015-16 season.
