Tony Adams' Salty Instagram Response To Arsenal's Post

Tony Adams has vented his frustration with Arsenal's post online.

Tony Adams had an incredible career with Arsenal, but he seemed majorly peeved with their latest social media post that paid tribute to departing boss, Arsene Wenger, and former player Patrick Vieira.

Arguably, Adams is considered Arsenal's best-ever captain and centre-back. He earned 669 caps for the club across an exceptional 19-year career and surprisingly scored 48 goals along the way.

But despite his deep connection to the north London side and their fanbase, he's wrote a seemingly moody reply to one of the club's posts.

The club posted on Instagram a picture of a youthful-looking Vieira and Wenger, who are sat beside the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield trophies they had won that season.

But Adams left a salty comment in reply to their nostalgic post, reminding the club that it was he who was the captain during that season, not Vieira.

Adams then 'liked' a couple of replies left by equally outraged Arsenal supporters.

It's been a fraught relationship between the club and former defender ever since he retired in 2002. He was never invited into the coaching staff and has since been openly critical of Arsene Wenger's reign during the Frenchman's latter years.

The 51-year-old undertook management with clubs Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth and Granada. His overall win percentage isn't a pretty sight, standing at 19.5%. In Adam's last job, his side lost all his seven games in charge.

Now he's made a snide comment at Arsenal for overlooking him in their post. Some Gunner supporters, however, are less than impressed with former defender and have taken to social media to express their disappointment with the Arsenal legend's online antics:

Adams and Arsenal somehow hasn't been the fairy-tale ending, despite the man being having his own statue outside the Emirates. This recent public exchange won't help matters, either.

What do you reckon? Was Adams in the wrong with this one, could've Arsenal paid him more respect? Let us know in the comments section.
