Thomas Muller has made his pick of who should win the Ballon d'Or out of Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Champions League final in Kiev.
The Bayern Munich attacker spoke the Daily Mirror about his premonitions for the upcoming award and the German said that Salah would be his pick for it, ahead of the likes of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
I think that Mo Salah was very impressive," he said. "Maybe if Liverpool can win the Champions League title, he's a big candidate.
"The whole world is looking for a new Ballon D'Or winner. Leo Messi and Ronaldo are outstanding, but the performance of Salah this season was also outstanding. I think he has a great chance."
Salah has enjoyed great success this season, scoring 44 goals in all competitions and helping the Reds reach the Champions League final.
It's been a surprise to all and arguably put the Egyptian international in the same category as Ronaldo and Messi - for this season, at least.
Having won numerous individual awards already this year, but the Ballon d'Or would be the icing on the cake for Salah, rounding off a superb year for the former AS Roma player.
The last player to win the award who wasn't Messi or Ronaldo was Kaka, from way back in 2007.
To beat them two would take some doing. Messi has been the focal point in Barcelona's domination in La Liga, while Ronaldo has again been in fine form for Los Blancos' Champions League campaign.
You would think that a win for Ronaldo or Salah's perspective teams would mean the Ballon d'Or would be theirs, with Ronaldo and Real Madrid as the favourites.
This weekend's final is shaping up to be a classic. Who do you think will emerge victorious? Let us know in the comments section.
