Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson knocked up an unbelievable stat after the Reds' 1-0 over Brighton on Saturday.

Despite the attacking flair of Liverpool, they only managed a single goal. Mohamed Salah brilliantly scored by planting the ball into the post and in to give his side all three points.

But it was also the defence who did superbly, namely the keeping department.

What are the requirements of a great goalkeeper? Height, agility, great saving ability and even distribution are all vital - but what about dribbling skills?

Alisson can do both: he kept a clean sheet and also earned this quite unbelievable stat in yesterday's match.

During the match against the Seagulls, he actually completed more dribbles than Naby Keita, Andy Robertson and Roberto Firmino combined.

Statman Dave on Twitter said: "Alisson completed more dribbles vs. Brighton than Andy Robertson, Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino combined."

More and more over the years are we seeing an offensive style of play in football. Full-backs are now judged on their dribbling and crossing ability, while goalkeepers are judged not only on whether they can score a goal or not, but whether they can pass the ball from long range.

"After half time we didn't do exactly the same. Maybe it's my English or whatever but the boys changed a little bit and it was not the best idea. We didn't show the same patience to play around. It was immediately at the start a bit more open; there was no need for that.

"Alisson had to make a big save; nice, good for him, good for us. We won the game very deservedly so that's how it should be. One nil I don't think is a result we've had very often since I'm in so I'm very happy we had one of that as it was the best we could get today so all good."

The German boss then commented on Alisson's hefty price tag.

"I have no clue if somebody criticised it. I couldn't be less interested in that by the way. We did it because we were convinced and that's it. We didn't make the price and we wanted the player."
