Insane Compilation Shows How Lionel Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo Would Play Together

A football fan has created a compilation showing how Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would play together and it's got us dreaming of it actually happening.

Twitter user @ShamelessFC has shared the video that's expertly edited to show the duo linking up and wreaking havoc on defences.

What stands out in the video is that Messi and Ronaldo's playing styles would perfectly compliment one another.

Juventus forward Ronaldo is known for his unrivaled physicality and mentality, which has helped him become one of the world's greatest players

Meanwhile, Messi's talents seem naturally gifted to him and his technical ability has helped him dominate football with Barcelona for the last decade and a half.

Both men can operate as a striker or out wide, meaning they could find each other darting into the box with a fantastic pass.

Ronaldo would likely rack up boatloads of goals while Messi's assist counter would skyrocket to crazy heights.

Messi has spoken about playing with Ronaldo in the past and he joked that he would pass to the 35-year-old - eventually.

"I guess so, in the end, yes," he told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

While Portugal captain Ronaldo has praised the rivalry they have shared and said he would love to have dinner with the 33-year-old one day.

"We have shared the stage 15 years. I don't know if that's happened before - the same two guys on the same stage all the time," the five-time Ballon d'Or said last August.

"Of course, we have a good relationship. We haven't had dinner together yet, but I hope in the future.

"We had that battle in Spain. I pushed him and he pushed me as well. So it's good to be part of the history of football."

It's fair to say every football fan would give anything to see Messi and Ronaldo link up, even for just two minutes.
