Sergio Ramos pulled off an outrageous backheel tackle in the penalty area during Spain vs Switzerland.

Spain emerged 1-0 winners in the UEFA Nations League clash thanks to a Mikel Oyarzabal strike, but Ramos stole all the headlines.

He put in a captain's performance and one of the standout moments came at the expense of Ruben Vargas, who had burst into the box.

Without even looking at his opponent or the ball, Ramos effortlessly clipped the ball away from the winger with his heel mid-stride.

Ramos himself tweeted the clip following full-time with a caption of: "Access denied."

Fans have reacted to the tackle and they think it's proof the 34-year-old is still one of the world's greatest defenders.

Ramos has started the season in sparkling form for Real Madrid and the club are currently top of La Liga.

Saturday's clash at Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano saw Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore make his competitive debut for Spain.

Traore replaced Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati in the 57th minute and his very first contribution was his entire game summed up.

Seconds after entering the fray, the 24-year-old held off one challenge then embarrassed a further two opponents before playing the ball to Jose Gaya.
