The Saints travelled to Villa Park on the back of a 2-0 victory over Everton last weekend and Ward-Prowse has ran the show.
He delivered an inch-perfect cross for Jannik Vestergaard to head home the opener.
But the Southampton captain turned on the style to double his side's lead, curling a lovely free-kick over the wall and past Emiliano Martinez.

Ward-Prowse fancied his chances again just before half-time and once again went to the left, leaving Martinez stranded once again.
It means Southampton are now comfortable 3-0 leaders with the game likely wrapped up.
Not a bad way for the England international to spend his 26th birthday.
Fans have reacted to his performance so far and they think he's been one of the Premier League's most underrated players this season.

Said this before but some of James Ward-Prowse's deliveries from wide free-kicks & corners, are virtually undefendable.

Ward-Prowse's ability from a deadball is well known and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks he's the best in England.
Speaking following a game against Southampton two seasons ago, he remarked: "We played with the ball so good but not without the ball. We were not stable behind. We concede a lot of corner kicks and with the best taker in the league [James Ward-Prowse] like Southampton had."
Do you think James Ward-Prowse is the bet set piece taker in the Premier League?
