Dimitri Payet managed to play an inch-perfect pass while lay on the floor to help Marseille beat Strasbourg.

The Frenchman is known for his silky skills when on the ball, but what he produced on Friday evening is up there as a career highlight.

Payet bursts into the box before being dragged down by defenders, to which he responds with a delightful lob while on the floor.

Dario Benedetto managed to nod the pass down to Morgan Sanson who rifled home the winner with a ferocious half-volley.

Fans have reacted to the former West Ham man's part in the goal and it's reminded them why they love him.

Marseille are currently fourth in Ligue 1 but have lost every game in the Champions League so far.

They're rooted to the bottom of Group C and former goalkeeper Pascal Olmeta had harsh words for the team, as well as Payet.

He accused the 33-year-old of being overweight and equated it to not loving the club.

"It pisses me off, I turned off before the end," he stated per GFFN.

"It is not possible! Watching these matches gives me a stomach ache. OM, we are Europe, we are not Guingamp! I feel the same as Eric Di Meco, I love this club so I criticise it.

"I was watching it via video with my son who is in the AS Monaco youth academy, and I felt his disappointment when Dimitri (Payet) missed the penalty.

"It hurt me. The worst thing is when you see the youngsters disappointed when certain players who have lost 3-0 are still smiling. It makes me want to throw punches... And then, when you are a professional, it is not normal to weigh 100kg, that is the equivalent of not loving your club."
