Manuel Locatelli Announces Himself To The World With Midfield Masterclass In Italy vs Switzerland

Manuel Locatelli has officially arrived on the world stage after scoring twice in Italy's 3-0 win over Switzerland.

The midfielder has had an incredible season at club level with Sassuolo and he's carried that form over to Euro 2020.

Locatelli opened the scoring after finishing off a vicious Domenico Berardi cross.

He then added his second of the game just after half-time with a low drive that caught Yann Sommer completely off guard.

Ciro Immobile added a third late on after great work from Rafael Toloi.

At 23 years and 159 days old, Locatelli is currently the youngest goalscorer at this summer's competition.

An AC Milan academy graduate, Locatelli is cultured with the ball at his feet and is already attracting interest from a host of top clubs.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Juventus have all been linked with a transfer.

Fans have reacted to his performance this evening and they think it's proof he's ready to take the next step up.

Roberto Mancini's side now have six points and top Group A, having won their first game 3-0 against Turkey on Friday evening.

They take on Wales on Sunday evening and avoiding defeat will see them qualify in first place.

Who do you think will win Euro 2020?
