Mason Mount proved he is one of Chelsea's most important players with a quality performance vs Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The Blues ran out 1-0 winners in their first leg clash thanks to Olivier Giroud's acrobatic effort, but the real star of the show was Mount.

Despite getting booked within seconds, the 22-year-old never stopped running and looked a menace going forward.

He was involved in the tussle prior to Giroud's goal and helped bring the best out of his teammates.

Mount was replaced by N'Golo Kante in the 74th minute and he departed as a standout performer.

A booking means he'll miss the second leg on March 17 and it'll be a huge blow.

Fans have reacted to Mount's performance and they believe he has taken his game to a new level under Thomas Tuchel.

Atletico failed to register a single shot on target in the game and an image of their '6-3-1' formation went viral, as 'Spanish Burnley' also trended.
