Martinez's coffin was then buried after the farewell.
Fans have reacted to the classy tribute online and it's fair to say it has tugged on everyone's heartstrings.
The way they try to 'hug' him at the end...you've got me this morning

That's lovely. Sport is so joyful. Brings hope at times of immense pain. Lovely story.

Ok, this is beyond "someone's cutting onions" or "it's dusty here", I'm full on crying. A kid getting murdered is the worst.

It isn't the first time that South American fans have made the news for paying tribute to friends in this way.
Take these Cúcuta Deportivo 'Ultras', who made the decision to take their friend to a game days after his death.
Cúcuta Deportivo 'Ultras' carried the coffin of late 17-year-old fan Christopher Jácome to the game against Envigado at the General Santander stadium last year.
The lad was killed whilst playing football a day before but his friends wanted him to 'watch' the match with them and took him from his home - getting permission from his family to do so.
Last week we saw the Racing fan taking his granddad's skull to the celebrations around Buenos Aires.

Bizarrely, the game was 1-0 before his coffin entered the stadium and after his arrival, Cúcuta equalised and the game ended 1-1.
