An incredible compilation of Donny van de Beek in action shows Manchester United exactly what they're missing by not starting him.

The Dutchman joined United for £40 million in the summer after an impressive time at Ajax.

But he's yet to start in the Premier League and didn't feature at all in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

Fans have questioned why the midfielder hasn't been given opportunities in the league so far, with KaiizoFilms' video showing just how good he's been with limited game time.

Van De Beek's strengths are going forward and his ability to carry a ball from deep is rivalled only by Paul Pogba in the Red Devils' ranks.

He is also well equipped to play deeper with bundles of energy and his one-touch passes would help United stay on the front foot.

While it has been a slower start than anticipated for the 23-year-old, he has started two games in the Carabao Cup and did score on his Premier League debut last month.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stressed his new recruit's time will come but a number of figures across the footballing world are doubting it.

Legendary Dutch striker Marco Van Basten has questioned van de Beek's decision to move to Old Trafford.

"It is very bad for such a boy to only play six or seven times in a year," Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.

"That's terrible for your rhythm! You can earn a lot more, but you also have to see where you can play.

"Is it about a five-year contract that he can sign? No, that's bulls**t. Then you shouldn't go to Manchester United, but wait with it or for another club. You have to want to play football every week, and such a club is then bad for your career."

Club legend Patrice Evra has admitted he doesn't feel the midfielder was an 'urgent signing.'

"My dear United fans, I recently made a comment on Sky saying we don't need Donny van de Beek," he stated on Instagram. "People need to understand on TV, you need to get straight to the point. You don't have time to explain why.

"I feel like a few people tried to insult my knowledge of football or they were born after the iPhone X so they don't know real talk straight to the point. No filter.

"When I said we don't need him - I will give you a few examples. Fred, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic. You love them or you hate them when we have to play a big game, when you need to be strong, compact and run everywhere. They always deliver, this is my opinion.

"Donny van de Beek is better than Paul Pogba? No. A different player, but no. Bruno Fernandes? No.

"The way he played for Ajax, that's what I want to see for United. But we have one problem. How many games has he started for United this season? That's why I said we don't need him, it wasn't an urgent signing."
