Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been mocked in a brutal Twitter thread following his poor performance vs Liverpool.

Fernandes wasn't at his sparkling best on Sunday evening and even found himself substituted during the 0-0 draw.

Despite showing his quality since arriving in the Premier League, one fan has decided to point out his flaws.

@CF_Comps has created a thread that picks apart the 26-year-old's performances in recent months.

It starts off by calling Fernandes 'one of the most underrated footballers in the game' in a sarcastic tone.

Fernandes is often credited as being a 'high risk, high reward' player when it comes to his shooting and passing.

The Portuguese superstar can appear wasteful when things aren't clicking and the thread highlights it.

Other factors include his lack of top trophies in addition to a lack of goals against United's 'big six' rivals.

Fernandes is still a key player for the Red Devils and has scored 11 goals in the league this season while also providing seven assists.

Some have questioned if the 26-year-old is tired given his lack of rest in a congested season.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended Fernandes however and disputed he is in poor form.

"His form is very good," said Solskjaer per The Mirror. "He's just been voted Player of the Month again.

"So he's not tired, no chance. He's one of the players that runs and covers the ground every single game and he's good at recharging his batteries.

"If he scored his free-kick [against Livepool] and if it just had a little air on the ball when Luke Shaw put the cross in, he'd have been lauded as best player in Premier League again.

"He's been immense. He's not tired and, if I ask him, he'll say there's no chance he's tired.

"He's expected to create goals, score goals and sometimes the margins are against him. That free-kick, we thought that was in.

"Some passes he plays are marginal, but he's always on the verge of creating something when he loses the ball and that's what he's been told to do. I want him to play the passes he sees."
