Earlier today, a tweet made the rounds, asking whether England boss Gareth Southgate has started to become more attractive after every England win?

Southgate has never been known as a playboy, but indeed with England's impressive performance at the World Cup, something is radiating from Southgate. People are really feeling him.

This Southgate fandom has seemed to have caught on. The whole national has fallen head over heels for the man.

Just why supporters are now smitten with the former Aston Villa player could be down to his brilliant leadership with England so far, but it also could be to do with his impeccable dress sense, not least of all his waistcoat - a piece of clothing now synonymous with Southgate.

Indeed, Southgate is known to wear the waistcoat look. It might be unfair to suggest that he looks like a someone from the 1940s or a snooker player, but he certainly has a style about him.

And the whole nation is feeling this look. Marks and Spencer have revealed that the sales of waistcoats has skyrocketed in recent days, soaring to a substantial 35%. It's been labelled as the 'Gareth Southgate effect'.

The manager's appearances on the touchline donning the outfit mixed with England's World Cup successes so far have culminated in the trend.

The love of Southgate and his waist-coast is clear to see on social media.

You can wear whatever you like, Gareth, let's just get pass these last three games and bring it home.
