Four of Europe's top five leagues are reportedly set to ask UEFA to postpone Euro 2020 this summer.

This summer's Euros are set to kick-off on June 12 with Italy hosting Turkey in Rome.

However, this would likely cause a huge issue for leagues to finish their domestic season due to postponements following the coronavirus pandemic.

According to ANSA per Football Italia, a conference call between representatives of the Europe's top five leagues and UEFA secretary general Giorgio Marchetti is set for tomorrow.

It's believed that Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga and the Bundesliga are set to ask for the summer tournament to be postponed.

The Premier League will be the only one of the top five leagues to not ask for a postponement.

Many have suggested that the governing bodies could ask for the tournament to be pushed back by a few weeks or potentially to next year.

Serie A is currently postponed until April 3 while the Players' Association of Spain is asking for a similar move in La Liga.

Italian prime minister Giuseppe Conte explained the decision to suspend all sporting activity in Italy on Monday.

"There is no more time, the numbers tell us there is a significant increase in the contagion, in intensive care and the deaths," he stated per Goal.

"Our habits have to change, we must sacrifice something for the good of all of Italy. This is why we will adopt even more stringent measures.

"I will sign the new decree, which can be summed up with the phrase 'I am staying at home.' There are no more red zones, there is just an Italy that is protected.

"We must avoid travel unless for proven work reasons, health reasons or other necessities. We ban large public gatherings.

"We also have more stringent measures in mind for sporting events. Serie A and all sporting tournaments in general are suspended. All the fans must accept that."
