A Twitter thread has hit back at claims Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is a 'fraud' by showing off a string of incredible goals.

The Frenchman has been trusted to lead the line by Ole Gunnar Solskjar but hasn't hit top form yet this season.

Some fans are convinced the 25-year-old should be dropped to the bench for summer signing Edinson Cavani until he finds form.

But Twitter user @Dheer_Utd has created an in-depth thread with the tongue in cheek caption of: "A thread exposing Anthony Martial the fraud For missing sitters and tap ins."

What follows are clips of Martial showing off his finishing ability from all over the pitch, while looking cool and ruthless.

Among the goals are his debut against Liverpool during which he turned Martin Skrtel inside out, as well as his solo goal against Watford last season.

Martial scored 23 goals in 2019/2020 as United finished third and reached three cup semi-finals, but only has three goals this campaign.

His other two forward partners, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, also haven't managed to hit top form yet.

Solskjaer discussed the trio in a press conference and said: "Definitely the belief has grown, because we know we've got players - Marcus [Rashford], Anthony [Martial], Mason [Greenwood].

"They've not really been on fire this season and when we get them scoring more goals, I'm sure we'll look more of a threat."

Do you think Anthony Martial is good enough to be Manchester United's main striker.
