Kylian Mbappe gave an alternative example of how you clear the ball, as he picked it up inside his own box and dribbled it the length of the pitch in an incredible display of skill
The Paris Saint-Germain striker showed his amazing pace and trickery as he effortlessly flew past the whole Monaco team in Wednesday night's Coupe de France final, won 2-0 by PSG.
A Monaco corner fell to Mbappe on his own six-yard box early on but, rather than hoofing the ball clear, Mbappe looked up and set off on a mazy solo run, beating Monaco players before finding a teammate with a perfect crossfield pass. This is how a real baller counterattacks.
Just three minutes after this, Mbappe was also helping to give his side the lead with his speed and tenacity.

The 22-year-old pounced as defender Axel Disasi dallied with the ball at his feet, robbing him of possession and playing in Mauro Icardi for the first goal of the night after 19 minutes.
PSG held their 1-0 lead through the majority of quite a dour final, until Mbappe gave the match a finishing flourish. Angel Di Maria slid the France international through to neatly finish past the goalkeeper.
So on the night, Mbappe registered an assist, a goal and walked away with the Coupe de France for his side (who still have a chance at the Ligue 1 title as they look to overtake Lille in the season's final game).

But what we'll really remember about Wednesday's match is that booting the ball downfield from a corner is simply not how Kylian Mbappe clears a football.
