Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel was spotted rushing out to the crashed helicopter at the King Power Stadium last weekend.

Since then, Foxes manager Claude Puel confirmed that the 31-year-old Dane was left stunned by the incident.

Now, fresh details have emerged online about Schmeichel's heroic actions following the tragedy.

"He stayed at the King Power Stadium until the early hours of the morning, consoling other members of staff, sharing the grief of Vichai's closest friends and associates," Rob Dorsett wrote for Sky Sports.

"He was the first to address his teammates, at the training ground on Monday, calling on them to keep delivering Vichai's vision.

"For all this, he's grown still further in the hearts of the Leicester fans."

The Sky Sports reporter also explained the close relationship that the Leicester shot-stopper and former Foxes owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha shared.

"Kasper was the closest of all the Leicester players to Vichai. The two men spent a lot of time together. They enjoyed each other's company," he said. "They got on.

"A few years ago, Vichai loaned Schmeichel his helicopter to get him back to a family holiday quickly, after he had to return for an advertising shoot at the club. How poignant that seems now.

"Vichai used to seek Kasper's counsel when big decisions were pending. The Dane was accused -- wrongly -- of playing a role in the decision-making process when Claudio Ranieri was controversially sacked in February 2017 just nine months after Leicester had won the title.

"But he did have huge influence over Vichai. The two men regularly chatted about performances, styles of play, even tactics."

Before Leicester City's match against Cardiff City today, players wore special shirts to pay tribute to Srivaddhanaprabha. During the minute silence before kick-off, however, Schmeichel was seen in tears during the tribute.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was leaving in a private helicopter after Leicester's 1-1 draw to West Ham United when it crashed in the arena's car park.

The club announced on Sunday night that the 61-year-old Thai businessman had passed away.

Two members of Srivaddhanaprabha's staff -- Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare -- pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz also lost their lives.
