Sampdoria Announce New Signing In The Best Possible Way

Hats off to the Sampdoria social media team.

There is a growing problem in Premier League football: young English talent being left on the sidelines and not being able to fully develop. This is because managers, who are under huge pressure, do not want to take risks and play them.

This results in England's hot prospects never reaching their full potential. While other countries happily ship their young guns on loan to England, the country hasn't been known to return the favour.

This is true of even transfers, with Owen Hargreaves' time in Germany a massive exception to the rule. He was an enigma, in some regard.

But more recently, things have changed, with Ronaldo Vieira, a 20-year-old, who was at Leeds United since 2015, joining up with Sampdoria, with the club announcing the signing today.

And the Serie A club have taken the time to put his famous name to use.

What a superb way to announce a player.

The comments have been class, too.

Following the massive move of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Juventus for £100 million, the side have done this.

A pretty clever mock-up of their rivals Juve. They have signed Vieria on a five-year-deal on an undisclosed fee. The midfielder joins Trevor Francis, David Platt, Des Walker and Lee Sharpe as the fifth player to join up with Sampdoria.

We're not sure whether this transfer would be a good addition to the side who finished 11th last season, but it'll be great to see the young player flourish.

This isn't the first time Vieria has played abroad, however. He played for Benfica in his youth career.

How well do you think Vieira at his new side? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
