It has been alleged that Ryan Giggs threw his ex-girlfriend out of their hotel room, while naked, after being accused of flirting with other women.

The former Manchester United midfielder has been accused of controlling and coercive behaviour towards Kate Greville between 2017 and 2020.

Giggs is set to be trialed in January and appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Friday afternoon to plea not guilty.

Per Evening Standard, the 47-year-old constantly messaged Greville after she questioned his links to other women and tried to end their relationship.

During a visit to the Stafford Hotel in London, Giggs has been accused of "kicking her (Ms Greville) in the back, and then throwing her out of the hotel bedroom naked, followed by throwing her bag."

Giggs, who stepped away from his role as Wales national team manager to face the allegations, also "regularly turned up unannounced and uninvited at her home, workplace and gym" according to further claims.

He also faces claims of headbutting Greville while drunk in November of last year. He is also accused of assaulting her sister, Emma, in the same incident at his home in Manchester.

In addition, he allegedly threatened to email Greville's friends and employers details of their sexual relationship.

Giggs is one of English football's most decorated players and played 963 times for United across 24 years.

He said in a statement back in April: "I have full respect for the due process of law and understand the seriousness of the allegations.

"I look forward to clearing my name."

Giggs was replaced by Robert Page at the helm of Wales' national team, with Page leading them to the last 16 of Euro 2020.

Page will also oversee the first six of Wales' World Cup qualifiers between September and November this year.
