Roy Keane has lambasted Dele Alli for his performance against Liverpool and said the England man needs to 'look in the mirror'.

Alli had a poor game at Anfield as Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners to go six points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Although Spurs as a whole were poor, the performance of Alli was highlighted by Sky Sports' Super Sunday Panel, including Keane.

The former Manchester United midfielder stated,

"He thinks he's a male model of some sort, do me a favour. Yeah, he needs to start looking in the mirror and wondering why he's lost that hunger."

Keane's criticism of the 23-year-old caught the ears of many fans on social media who commented on the Sky pundit's scathing critique.

Gary Neville also had scathing words for the former MK Dons stating we've been seeing a 'poor version' of Alli for the last 12 months.

Graeme Souness had spoken ahead of the game about his views of the former PFA Young Player of the Year.

Per The Daily Mail, he wrote in the Sunday Times,

'Two years ago, I thought Dele Alli was going to be a superstar,'

'A modern-day goalscoring midfielder from the same mould as Terry McDermott, my partner at Liverpool, or, more recently, Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

'Somebody who could be relied upon to get well into double figures in terms of goals every season for their club.

'Instead he's stagnated. Why? Will he point to the hamstring injuries he's had? Is he blaming the training at Tottenham or his team-mates? He has to look at himself first, in the mirror in the morning when he's shaving, and ask: "Why have I not progressed?"'

The midfielder has had a number of niggling injuries over the last few years and his telepathic understanding with Harry Kane seems to have waned.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping he can help the midfielder get back on track and show the form he had in his breakout years.

Spurs are currently in the bottom half of the table for the first time in four years, sitting in 11th.
