A video of Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance for Liverpool vs Real Madrid has emerged - with fans wondering if Gareth Southgate was right all along.
But he had a torrid evening out in Madrid and couldn't cope with Vinicius Junior, who scored twice as 'Los Blancos' ran out 3-1 winners.

Alexander-Arnold was ripped apart by the Brazilian and he ended up being booked after an altercation.
A mistake at the back also allowed Marco Asensio to make the scores 2-0 just prior to half-time.

Going forward, most of Alexander-Arnold's crosses were cleared by Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez respectively and Ferland Mendy didn't have much trouble at left-back.
It comes just weeks after Gareth Southgate dropped the Reds academy graduate from his England squad for a trio of World Cup qualifiers.
Fans have reacted to the performance and after being given issues by Vinicius, many are beginning to understand his omission.

One fan commented: "Mendy just walked through him like he wasn't there how did this man get a professional contract."
Another said: "Hands down one of the worst RB performances ever. Southgate was right to leave this scrub out."
A third added: "How somebody can step up on the pitch completely disinterested in the UCL quarterfinals is a question I gotta ask."
While someone else chimed in with: "We have to sign a proper right back. Trent ain't it for that position anymore."

Mohamed Salah did manage to grab an away goal and it means Liverpool still have a chance at Anfield next week.
Manager Jurgen Klopp commented on Madrid's current stadium, the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, post-match and remarked next week will be better at a 'proper stadium'.
He said: "It was strange tonight because of the stadium but Anfield is at least a proper stadium - that will be good for us."
Madrid are currently playing at the home of their Castilla side as the Santiago Bernabeu is undergoing construction work.
