Chelsea striker Timo Werner has missed two absolute sitters against Manchester City in the Champions League final - completely miskicking the ball for one.

The German forward hasn't been prolific since arriving from RB Leipzig last summer, managing just two goals in his last 22 appearances.

That bad luck has extended to tonight's contest with Werner flailing his leg at a Kai Havertz cross.

What happened next? He completely mishit the ball and it bobbled away from danger.

Werner then had another chance just moments later and he fired a rather tame effort into the gloves of Ederson.

After that, the 25-year-old managed to hit the side netting from an albeit more difficult opportunity.

Social media has reacted to his performance so far and they're in disbelief at it coming during a Champions League final.

At the opposite end, Phil Foden had a great chance to put City ahead before Antonio Rudiger's heroic block.

Chelsea also suffered a huge injury blow towards the end of the half, with Thiago Silva departing for Andreas Christensen.

The Brazilian landed awkwardly after challenging for a header with Foden and left the pitch with tears in his eyes.

Who do you think will win this game? Manchester City or Chelsea?
