The Three VAR Decisions That Left Liverpool Furious In Shock Southampton Defeat

Liverpool think three separate decisions went against them during a shock 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Monday evening.
Danny Ings' second minute goal sunk the Reds and they looked relatively toothless in front of goal.
But three key decisions went against the reigning Premier League champions and some fans think they should've gone to VAR.
All three incidents occurred in the second half, with the first involving a handball by Jack Stephens.

Gini Wijnaldum fired a shot towards Fraser Forster's goal that Stephens blocked with his arm, albeit while facing away from the ball.
The second saw Sadio Mane hauled down in the box by Kyle Walker-Peters, with referee Andre Marriner opting to not look at the screen.
"I think it's more of a case of Mane kicking the back of his heel, or his calf, so no I don't think that was a penalty." :no_entry_sign:

Should #LFC have had a penalty at St. Mary's?

How are you supposed to win a league title when the refs are actually against you at every turn, I've never seen any team so consistently screwed by officiating

One final incident wasn't regarding a penalty, but a potential red card for Theo Walcott.
Shocker of a tackle by Walcott on Milner that should of been a red card by Andre Marriner not given! #ShockingVAR pic.twitter.com/hFNfAmg20C

Walcott's tackle on Milner was extremely dangerous, we are playing horrible but this guy was a joke

Walcott dived in on James Milner with what looks like two feet but the former England international escaped punishment.
Jamie Carragher provided punditry on the game and he had his say on the Mane penalty claim.
Per TeamTalk he explained: "I think Mane kicks the back of Walker-Peters' calf. So that's where it could be a penalty, that side, but it's not. Mane hits the back of him.
"When you just see the other angle, he lets him come into the box, when you see the right foot come across from Walker-Peters, he makes a lunge for the ball with it.

"Normally when you see that, it's someone coming across to win the ball, they don't get it and they take the foot, or the attacker goes over it, the lazy leg, I've always called it.
"He doesn't go far enough to make the challenge, he half pulls out of the challenge. We saw on the earlier one, it's a case of Mane half kicking his calf. So I don't think it was a penalty."
