Manchester United fans have been getting emotional over a powerful Jesse Lingard compilation that showcases how important he once was to the club.

The midfielder scored his first Premier League goal in over 18 months on Sunday as United sealed a place in next season's Champions League with a 2-0 win over Leicester City.

Lingard has been an integral part of United's squad since his debut in 2014 and many are desperate to see the academy graduate succeed.

With Coldplay's 'Fix You' in the background, @NotoriousManc's compilation showcases the 27-year-old's best moments in a United shirt.

It begins with him clipping the ball over the bar against Watford in United's 2-0 loss earlier this season.

The video then rattles off some of Lingard's best moments in a United shirt, which include a winner against Chelsea as well as his dancing at the Emirates after scoring against Arsenal.

His goals at Wembley are also showcased, with the finale being his wild celebrations after scoring the winner in the 2016 FA Cup Final.

United fans have reacted to the video and they think it could be a fitting farewell to one of their own.

It is being rumoured that four clubs are interested in signing the former England international should he leave United this summer.

Lingard took to Instagram to reflect on a tough year for him on and off the pitch and he admitted he "lost himself" for a period.

"Im starting with the man in the mirror im asking him to change his ways," he begun.

"This season has been difficult for so many reasons.

"I lost who I was as a player and person, but I never wanted to give up, I knew who I really was on and off the pitch and knew that having been there before I could get there again.

"This meant working harder than I'd ever done before and trusting in those around me that they knew how to best help me achieve that.

"I know the fans have been frustrated but in all this time my love for this club and everyone connected to it has never left me.

"This team, this club is my family and I will continue to keep working harder than ever to help this team achieve its goals. #MUFamily."
