The midfielder has featured numerous times throughout the season and he certainly made his mark this afternoon.

Liverpool also fielded new January signing Takumi Minamino.

Minamino started up front for The Reds and put in a decent shift before being substituted in the second half.

Everton did have their chances in the first half and Carlo Ancelotti will be furious his side didn't take them.

But their attacking prowess dried up in the second half and they failed to register a shot on target.
