Scott Parker’s Team Talk Before Fulham Beat Liverpool At Anfield Is Genuinely Electrifying

"Understand you’re going to have to go through pain today. You will have to suffer."

Fulham have released footage of Scott Parker's inspiring team talk before Fulham defeated Liverpool at Anfield and it's incredibly stirring stuff.

The Fulham boss comes across as a nice, likeable guy who's voice just so happens to match up incredibly well with the music of The Streets. But this is an entirely different and impassioned version of Scott Parker.

Talking to his players before their March trip to Anfield, the former England midfielder is absolutely on a mission. The result? A 1-0 win over the Premier League champions.

"What do we need to do to get a result here?" barks Parker. "I've been here before: Anfield, Liverpool.

"One [way to play] is: sit on the edge of your box, soak it up. No chance am I setting us up like that!

"Understand you're going to have to go through pain today. You will have to suffer.

"I need to see a dynamic, front-foot team. Not a mentality of: 'Sit off this, we're Fulham and we're playing...' No! Being an aggressive, front-foot, top team."

Frankly, we haven't been so inspired since Aragorn delivered that pep talk for Legolas and the boys before they had to go and fight all those hideous orcs outside Mordor (not that we're comparing that situation to facing Liverpool at Anfield, you understand).

This was an incredible rallying cry and game plan from the Fulham boss and it worked a treat as Mario Lemina's strike inside the post gave the relegation-threatened west-London team a vital three points against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Of course, as Fulham are currently in 18th place and seven points from safety, some fans of the Cottagers may wonder why Parker's spine-tingling speeches and aggressive tactics haven't been working a bit more often this season.

But we're just here to enjoy 30 seconds of raw inspiration.
