Scotland qualified for their first international tournament since 1998 last night with a dramatic penalty shooutout win over Serbia, after a 1-1 draw in regular time.

It means they've secured a spot in Group D alongside Croatia and Czech Republic - as well as longtime rivals England.

At the time of writing, the game will take place at 8pm at Wembley Stadium.

Last time the two sides met at an international tournament was Euro 96, when England emerged 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne.

The game is perhaps most famous for Gascoigne's 'dentist chair' celebration.

Scotland took the lead against Serbia through Ryan Christie and looked set to qualify in normal time.

But Luka Jovic popped up with a header in the 90th minute to force the game to extra time.

There was no breakthrough in extra time and it came down to a penalty shootout which saw David Marshall become a national hero.

Nine penalties had been dispatched with the scores at 5-4, when Alexsander Mitrovic stepped up from 12 yards for the tenth overall spot-kick.

Marshall saved with a strong hand to his left and teammates rushed to celebrate with the Derby County man.

Goalscorer Christie spoke to Sky Sports immediately after the win and told them while fighting back tears: "It's just an amazing night. From the start we kind of believed. In the last couple of camps we've picked up so much belief in each other.

"Even the way the game went tonight, conceding that late equaliser, but still digging in and then penalties away from home.

"Big Marsh [David Marshall] comes up again... amazing, unbelievable.

"When you're on the pitch you always feel like you can impact. But when you're off you cant watch it - it's horrible. That's the worst I've ever been through.

"It's just everything you know. For the whole nation, it's been a horrible year for everyone. we knew that coming into the game - we could give a little something to the country and I hope everyone back home is having a party tonight because we deserve it.
