Manchester United ran riot and scored four goals in 11 minutes against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League tonight.

United had endured a rather poor first half against the Dutch side who controlled possession.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side came out fired up in the second half and blew AZ away in 11 blistering minutes.

Ashley Young opened the scoring after a lovely team move that set United on their way.

Mason Greenwood doubled the scoring five minutes later after collecting the ball from a James Garner tackle.

It's likely the goal would have been chalked off if VAR was in use as the midfielder clearly fouls Teun Koopmeiners.

Greenwood was then involved in winning a penalty four minutes later after being tripped by Jordie Clasie.

Juan Mata stepped up and dispatched coolly past Marco Bizot to put clear daylight between the sides.

Greenwood was involved again two minutes after that to double his tally after scoring a lovely low drilled effort with his left foot.

The 18-year-old has now scored six goals this season meaning he is the 'Red Devils' second top goalscorer after Marcus Rashford.

He's has also scored in all three of United's home games in the Europa League this season.

December has shaped up to be one of Solskjaer's best since becoming permanent manager in March.

United haven't lost a game this month and defeated Tottenham Hotspur as well as bitter rivals Manchester City last week.

Tonight's result also means they qualify for the last 32 in top spot in Group L.

As a result, they'll avoid facing teams that have dropped down from the Champions League which include Dutch giants Ajax as well as Inter Milan.
