Manchester City Are Mercilessly Mocked For Embarrassing Film Trailer On Twitter

You won't see anything as cringe-inducing all season.

Manchester City have been mercilessly mocked for a bizarre Twitter video advert featuring their players.

City tweeted the video on Thursday afternoon to promote the Nissan Juke and it's in the style of a film trailer.

The 24-second clip features 'Special Agent Walker' (Kyle Walker) and 'Double 0' (De Bruyne) trying to topple the 'Dark Illy Commander of the World' (Ilkay Gundogan).

It really is something special and you can check it out below.

Walker is James Bond-esque while Gundogan yelping 'You are never gonna take me alive, you losers!' could go down as a season highlight.

Twitter reacted in typical style to the absurdity of it all.

However, some did enjoy the video and are seemingly eager to see how a full length movie would play out.

It's certainly a bizarre way to promote a car.

On the pitch, City defeated Everton 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on New Year's Day to start 2020 with a victory.

Gabriel Jesus netted both goals and his manager was full of praise at the full-time whistle.

City boss Pep Guardiola told ManCity.com,

"What Gabriel has shown in his time here - there have been ups and downs - but he has been excellent.

"Sergio is irreplaceable. What he means to our fans, for what he done, the goal against QPR... we need a good backup for all the players and Sergio has a great complimentary player in Gabriel.

"They have a great relationship. Sergio helped us win the last game, today it was Gabriel."

City still trail table topping Liverpool, who face Sheffield United tonight, by 11 points.
