Fans think that Pep Guardiola's days as Manchester City manager could be over after the club's Champions League ban.

UEFA announced on Friday evening that the Premier League champions would be banned from all of their competitions for two seasons after breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

Guardiola's contract as Manchester City boss expires in 2021 and he's yet to commit to an extension.

Many fans believe the Spaniard will choose to leave following City's ban from Europe's elite competition.

The 49-year-old revealed on Thursday he thinks he could lose his job should City be knocked out of the Champions League this season.

City face Real Madrid in the last sixteen and Guardiola revealed to Football Daily:

"I want to win the Champions League, I dream and will enjoy the games against Real Madrid, to see what I can do."

"And this process, the two weeks before, will be the happiest moments of my profession, to imagine what we can do to beat them.

"If we don't beat them, then the chairman will come, or the sporting director, and say 'It's not good enough, we want the Champions League, I'm going to sack you.'

"Then 'OK, thank you, it was a pleasure."

Do you think Guardiola will remain in charge of City next season?
