Everton have taken the lead against Manchester United after a huge David De Gea mistake.

De Gea received the ball inside the opening few minutes at Goodison Park and attempted to play the ball forward.

However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin closed the Spaniard down and got in the way of the ball to touch it into the United net.

Everton could have doubled their lead moments later but the 29-year-old got down low to make an excellent save.

Fans on Twitter have reacted to De Gea's calamitous error.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be furious as his side have started brilliantly at Goodison Park.

Nemanja Matic rattled the bar with a left footed drive and had another chance to level the score moments later.

But Everton have looked threatening on the counter attack and are causing United's defence problems.

United will be desperate for a victory as it would take them one point behind fourth place Chelsea.

Do you think Manchester United will make it into next season's Champions League?
