Quique Setien has revealed he is unsure if he'll be Barcelona manager when their Champions League campaign resumes against Napoli on August 8.

Setien spoke to Spanish media following his side's 2-1 defeat to Osasuna which handed Real Madrid the La Liga title.

Lionel Messi also addressed the media in a rare interview and didn't hold back - with Setien admitting he agreed with every word.

"I am responsible for our situation, as I am the manager of the team," the 61-year-old began per Marca.

"I hope we will face the Champions League this summer as a different team, but I am not sure about what happens next for me.

"I agree with the post match comments from Lionel Messi about self-criticism, and we must look at ourselves in the coming weeks."

Barca slipped to their sixth defeat of the season against Osasuna while Real Madrid defeated Villarreal to emphatically end the title race.

Messi vented that the Catalan giants have been "weak" and huge improvement is required.

"This game represents the entire year," the six-time Ballon d'Or winner stated. "We have been an erratic and weak team.

"Madrid did its part by winning all its matches, which is impressive, but we also helped them to win this league. We have to be critical of how we have played, starting with the players, and the rest of the club.

"We have lost because of our mistakes and not because of Madrid's successes, as many say.

"The feeling on this team is that it tries, but that it cannot get the job done. Today in the first half they were better than we were and it seems we have to fall behind to react like we tried to do in the second half."

"We are going to have to change a lot if we want to do something..."

Setien took over from Ernesto Valverde back in January and excited fans with his promise of attacking football.

However, Barcelona restarted the league season two points ahead of Madrid and have dropped a number of points while Madrid went on a ten-game winning streak to secure top spot.

"I said it some time ago, that playing like this we had no chance of winning the Champions League, and it turns out we didn't even have enough to win La Liga," Messi continued.

"We need to take a breather, let some air in, and clean out minds of all that has happened since December."
