Premier League's Top Earners Revealed After Kevin De Bruyne Mega Contract

Kevin De Bruyne signed a new contract at Manchester City this week, a two-year extension that will keep him at the Etihad until 2025.

This will be keeping manager Pep Guardiola happy, after the former Chelsea man's five goals and 11 assists in 24 Premier League matches this season have helped his team to coast to a 14-point lead at the top of the Premier League - albeit having played a match more than second-placed Manchester United.

According to various reports, the midfielder negotiated the deal himself after leaving his agent last year due to money laundering allegations - which will have saved the Sky Blues millions in agent fees.

However, has it proved to be in De Bruyne's favour? As one of the best players in the Premier League, the Belgium international is sure to be worth one of the highest wages in the division - but exactly how does he match up against the top earners?

According to The Sun, the 29-year-old isn't doing too badly on £385,000-a-week. See below for how that matches up against the top ten in England.

10. Sergio Aguero, Manchester City, £230k-a-week
With his contract coming to an end in the summer, it's going to take a big offer from Aguero's next club to tempt him.

9. Anthony Martial, Manchester United, £250k-a-week
Bruno Fernandes surely can't be happy with Martial earning more than him...

8. Timo Werner, Chelsea, £270k-a-week
While the goals haven't been flowing for Werner, cash has definitely been flowing into his bank account.

7. Paul Pogba, Manchester United, £290k-a-week
Pogba may not always be happy at Old Trafford, but his accountant likely is.

6. Raheem Sterling, Manchester City, £300k-a-week
Another key part of the team at the Etihad, Sterling is reaping the rewards.

5. Kai Havertz, Chelsea, £310k-a-week
Another Chelsea ace who is yet to live up to expectations, the Blues will hope the investment pays off eventually.

4. Gareth Bale, Tottenham (on loan from Real Madrid), £325k-a-week
Harry Kane might be the main man at Spurs, but he isn't the one taking home the biggest paycheck.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal, £350k-a-week
Aubameyang's struggles this season have seen the Gunners equally struggle.

2. David De Gea, Manchester United, £375k-a-week
It definitely seemed a good idea when De Gea signed this deal, but with Dean Henderson breathing down his neck it seems a bit much now.

1. Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City, £385k-a-week
And here he is, agentless but still lording it over the rest of the Premier League with his wage packet.

What do you think? Is any single person, let alone footballer, worth over £20 million-a-year?
