Premier League chiefs have admitted that VAR made a mistake in awarding a penalty during the Brighton vs Everton game last month.
Everton defender Michael Keane stepped on Brighton forward Aaron Connolly's foot in the box and match referee Andy Madley deemed there to be no foul.
But VAR got involved and awarded a penalty to Graham Potter's side making Everton the first team to have a penalty awarded against them by the video assistant referee.

Per Daily Mail, it is understood Premier League officials communicated that the decision should not have been given after a review.
It will particularly irk Everton and Marco Silva who went on to lose 3-2 after Neil Maupay's penalty brought Brighton level ten minutes from time.
It's unknown whether Everton have received a message from the PGMOL about the error during the game.

The Toffee's had won their previous game 2-0 against West Ham United and were looking to gain momentum after a slow start to the season.
It looked as if they had victory sealed at the Amex Stadium and were controlling the game until the penalty was awarded.
After the game, Silva lamented the mistake from VAR that cost his side three valuable points.
"It was so clear in the last three or four games and we are talking about it costing us five or six points," said Silva following the game.

"Where would we be with those points? I don't have any doubts that we would be performing on a different level if we had those points.
"Every team in the world plays with more confidence when it is higher up the table.
"Now we are not in the position we want, I am not happy with the position we are in, but I know things would be completely different if football was fair with us.
"We deserved more but it is done and I can change nothing. It was so clear and now we go into another must-win game - and every game is a must-win game for us - when we would have had more freedom and confidence had we been higher in the table."

Everton are currently 17th in the table and three points above the relegation zone.
They face Southampton this weekend and they'll be hoping they can pick up their second league win since September.
Things could be looking a lot rosier for the Goodison Park faithful if VAR hadn't made a costly mistake.
