Phil Foden has finally revealed what went down in his post-match chat with Erling Haaland following Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund.

The two youngsters came face to face in a Champions League quarter-final clash in March and embraced at full-time.

Both players covered their mouths and many have speculated exactly what was said... until now.

Foden sat down with Football Daily to answer fan questions and when the topic of Haaland came up, he replied with, "Am I allowed to say?" before flashing a cheeky grin.

He continued: "We were just talking about he missed a few chances in that game, so it was a chat in general about the game and the result.

"It was nothing too special, a lot of people thought it was about other things. It was just about the game in general."

City fans hoping they'll have been chatting about a potential transfer will likely be left disappointed.

Haaland is regarded as one of the world's top prospects and is already a goalscoring machine at 20-years-old.

His enigmatic personality is a huge draw for fans off the pitch and on it, he's managed to score a whopping 39 goals in 40 club appearances this campaign.

Meanwhile, Foden has managed to establish himself as a regular in Pep Guardiola's City side in recent months.

They have reached their first Champions League final after demolishing Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 over two legs - but Foden singled out one of their players for praise.

Neymar didn't manage to take his side through to a second consecutive final, but he did earn the tag of Foden's most talented opponent.

"I'd have to say Neymar in the first leg [of the Champions League semi-final] in the first half," Foden added. "I was a bit starstruck at times. Just some of the little flicks he was doing. I had to keep professional.

"He's unbelievable what he does every game, he decides the game on his own sometimes. One of the best players in the world.

"It can get frustrating, it's very hard to even get near him. I thought we coped really well in the second half onwards to deal with him, him and [Kylian] Mbappe obviously two special talents.

"It was massive, important to get the job done.

"I asked Neymar for this shirt and he very kindly gave it to me. I'm going to get it framed. I'm sure he's got many better players than mine, I don't think he needs to."
