Mohamed Salah has just won the Football Writers' Footballer of the Year and it's getting quite boring now, to be honest with you.

Yes, Salah, we know you're good at football. We know that every time you play it's almost as true as scientific law that you'll likely score, so what in the hell is it this time? Have you learnt to fly or something?

Well, no. This time it's not an official award based on the opinions of a select few, it's cold, hard facts, which, strangely, give more credit to the Egyptian King than any shard of culturally significant metal would.

Freelance journalist and all-round clever-clogs Andrew Beasley has formulated a Premier League table which is Liverpool's points total purely based on the goals Salah had either scored or assisted for this season.

To explain: if Liverpool drew 2-2 in a game this, and Salah scored one, the Reds would receive no points for that game, lose 2-1 and carry over a minus one goal difference.

Likewise, if Salah assisted two and scored one in a 5-3 game, it would only be a single point to Liverpool.

You get the idea. It's not that complicated, really.

As you can see from this brilliantly crafted table, the 43-goal-this-season-man has got Liverpool up to seventh in the Premier League - and topped it off with a positive points total of four. Blimey.

Essentially, if it was Salah versus the remaining 19 teams in the league, the 25-year-old beats 13 of them, and qualifies for Europe on a one-man crusade. Stats like that are worth more than any trophy, right?

Just how much better can he get? Can he top this season? When will people genuinely asking if a player who scores over 40 goals in a single campaign is a one-season-wonder? All these questions remain unanswered still.
