Mohamed Salah is back in Melwood undergoing pre-season training, and the comment he made at a recent session highlights his unbelievable drive and determination.

Salah was the Reds' standout performer last season. He scored 44 goals in all competitions. A momentous amount, indeed, but one that has given him an almost impossible benchmark for next season.

Salah appears not to be resting on his laurels, following a poor World Cup campaign where Egypt were knocked out at the group stages.

At Melwood, the Liverpool stars were undergoing fitness tests. Salah, Sadio Mane and Marko Grujic were undergoing the rigorous tests, running laps around the training ground before having a test sample of blood taken from them.

Grujic quits and the two attackers carry on. Salah then makes this comment when he's asked to stop running:

"Can we do it again?"

When he's told he's not allowed to carry on, his face saddens, the look of someone who just lives and breathes constantly challenging and pushing themselves to the limit.

Next season, Salah will be joined by a whole host of new faces. Xherdan Shaqiri, Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keïta have all made the move to Liverpool.

Indeed, Liverpool have splashed the cash this transfer window, making use of the earnings of their Champions League ventures last season, where they - surprisingly - reached the final.

Eyes will be on Liverpool next season, as they are entering the campaign as one of the favourites to win the league title.

Could next year truly be Liverpool's year?
