Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah did not react well to being taken off during their match with Brighton on Saturday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp took the Egyptian off during the second half, with the Reds only one goal ahead of their opponents.

Having supplied the assist for Diogo Jota's goal to put the Merseyside club ahead just minutes before, the 28-year-old may have been hoping that he could add to his goal contributions tally later in the match.

However, with just over an hour gone in the game, Klopp took his star player off - perhaps with Tuesday's Champions League encounter with Ajax in mind.

Liverpool are currently nursing an injury crisis during a busy period of the season. Balancing four competitions in a Covid-shortened campaign has proved difficult for the high intensity side, with defence a particular worry thanks to injuries to Virgil Van Dijk, and Joe Gomez - Joel Matip also missed the game with Brighton to manage the amount of minutes he has been playing.

Despite this, Salah didn't seem to have this bigger picture in mind when he was taken off on Saturday...
