Micah Richards Dropped An F-Bomb In His First Post-Match Interview, He's Always Been Comedy Gold

Richards has always been box office entertainment.

Micah Richards dropped the f-bomb on live TV after scoring his first goal for Manchester City at 17 years old and the footage is hilarious.

The popular pundit burst onto the scene (yes Roy, he did) in the 2005/2006 season and had put together a string of starts.

He managed to score a vital equaliser against Aston Villa in the FA Cup to earn City a replay in the fifth round.

Richards spoke to BBC's Garth Crooks immediately after the game and emotions were still very high.

"Well Micah extraordinary finish, what did you make of it?" he was asked.

Former England international Richards replied: "Ahh it was just great to be out there... f**king... I just can't believe it.

"One minute we were 1-0 down and then the last minute I got the goal. So not much more I can ask for really."

Crooks then told Richards: "Well you're a young lad and we can understand your excitement but this is going out to a national audience so careful what you say!"

Richards let out what has now become a trademark laugh and looked mortified at what he'd said.

Years later, he penned in a BBC Sport column: "These days, people mostly bring up my BBC interview with Garth Crooks straight after the game, when I was so excited about scoring that a four-letter word sneaked out.

"My mum gave me an earful when I saw her afterwards - she didn't speak about the goal, because she was never really too bothered about football, but she just told me I had embarrassed her by swearing on TV.

"I was like 'mum, I'd just scored a brilliant goal' but she said 'yes but what will people think of me? I didn't bring you up like this'."

Did he learn his lesson? Well, not really.

City won the FA Cup in 2011 when Richards had established himself as a regular first-team player.

It was the club's first major trophy in 34 years and Richards described the fans as 'f**ked' alongside Mario Balotelli.

"Look at the fans, they're f**ked!" before stopping himself mid-sentence and adding: "They've been there since day one. I can't believe it, it's unbelievable."
