Manchester City Turn Up To Preseason Friendly Wearing Bizarre Jerseys

Will it catch on?

Manchester City have taken the phrase 'post-modern' to a new level by turning up to a preseason friendly wearing a black kit with the words 'Manchester City' on the front.

Manchester City played Bayern Munich and won 3-2 in a stunning encounter.

Meritan Shabani opened the scoring and then Arjen Robben doubled up for the Bundesliga side. However, Pep Guardiola's men found their form of last season and got three goals, Bernando Silva scored twice and with Lukas Nmecha also got on the score-sheet for the Premier League champions.

But before the match, Man City were snapped entering the stadium dressed in one of the most strangest outfits going: an all black jersey with the name of their club in white text printed on the front.

The reaction has been great.

We're no experts in fashion but we suspect that this minimalist style isn't quite in today's climate. The reason for wearing this could be that all of the proper jerseys were missing and the side had to conjure up a way of having every player wear a top and shorts that looked the same.

What do you reckon to City's fashion statement? Will it catch on? Let us know in the comments section.
