Jose Mourinho won't be happy with this.

Luis Garcia took to social media after France's 2-1 victory over Australia emerged as another game shrouded in VAR controversy.

The former Liverpool attacker, like the rest of us, seems to be glued to the TV these last few days, watching the World Cup taking place in Russia.

France went ahead from a well-taken Antoine Griezmann penalty. This was after Josh Risdon's challenge on the French striker was ruled by referee Andres Cunha to be a foul.

The official reversed his decision, having watched the replay via VAR.

It was the right call to make: Risdon's trailing leg trapped Griezmann's foot inside the box, but as you'd expect, certain individuals, including BBC co-commentator for the game Mark Lawrenson, were majorly confused.

Amidst all the confusion, Garcia stepped in with this cheeky tweet.

It references a game from back in 2005, in the return leg of Liverpool versus Chelsea, the Champions League semi-final, with the Spaniard's brace helping the Merseyside club progress to the final in Istanbul, Turkey, where they played in one of the most memorable finals of all time against AC Milan.

But Garcia's second goal caused a stir, as it looked to have not crossed the line.

The referee awarded a goal to the Reds, with then Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho absolutely fuming after the game.

And now former Reds player Garcia took the opportunity to poke fun at the controversy, tweeting: "I'd have loved to have VAR back in 2005!!! #Overtheline #NeverGhostGoal"

Liverpool supporters thoroughly enjoyed the tweet by Garcia.

Even his former teammate John Arne Riise got involved.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Garcia discussed the incident:

"I celebrated the goal because I truly believe that I saw the ball go over the line."

"It all happened so quickly - but look at my movement when I hit the shot, and also as Chelsea try to clear it. It's natural because I saw what I saw, and that was the ball crossing the line.
