Liverpool fans are planning to welcome Manchester United's coach on Sunday with another infamous hostile greeting outside Anfield.

Officialliverpoolfan on Instagram are urging their fans to get to Anfield two hours before kick-off to welcome United's bus.

The post reads: "We are going for our first title in 30 years.

"Man Utd will want to stop us more than anyone else so we need to set the tone for the day and let them know we mean business.

"We all know how much these bus welcomes help. Bring pints, pyros and flags and let's show our arch rivals what this means!"

Another post also lists other occasions teams received unnerving receptions when arriving on Merseyside.

The two most notable instances have come on Champions League nights, against Manchester City in 2018 and Barcelona last year.

They received a fine of £17,500 for the City incident, with fans throwing bottles through the windows and rendering the bus unusable.

It is stressed in the post that the reception should not be a violent one.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can come out on top against a United side who are the only team to take points off Liverpool this season.

The two sides drew 1-1 at Old Trafford back in October.
