A Liverpool supporter has given the perfect response after suggestions that the Reds are 'buying the league.'

The Merseyside club broke the world-record transfer for a defender in January by buying Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for a fee reported to be £75 million, and they broke the transfer record for a goalie by purchasing Alisson from AS Roma, for a reported £66.8 million.

Because of this, the side have fallen under a wave of criticism from rival supporters, who have suggested that they trying to buy the league.

But a Reds supporter has responded to these accusations with this brilliant tweet.

Liverpool might be spending, but it's money they have earned through either player sales or last season's Champions League ventures. The money they have generated has come from the successes of the side, rather than the backing of a large conglomerate.

Everything is looking up for the Reds. Long gone are the days where they had Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli up front leading the line. They now have the likes of Mohamed Salah - the attacker who scored a whopping 44 goals across all competitions last season - Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.

The Reds are now brimming with talent across all areas of pitch and now Manchester United and Liverpool supporters are unhappy with their business, especially with these quotes said by manager Jurgen Klopp:

"If you bring one player in for £100m and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney.

"The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together.

"That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful.
