Liverpool Board Team Bus While Man Plays ‘Money, Money, Money’ By ABBA On Saxophone

Jurgen Klopp and his team got a special send-off...

Liverpool's players were given a hilarious send-off as they boarded their team bus for their match against Leeds United: a man playing ABBA hit 'Money, Money, Money' on the saxophone.

Jurgen Klopp, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and co. were all boarding the coach for the trip to Elland Road from a hotel - with a lilting sax version of the Swedish quartet's song rising through the air.

The jibe was clearly directed at the Reds' announcement that they are one of the 12 founding members of a breakaway European Super League. Many fans have accused the dozen clubs of putting greed and financial self-interest above the desires of their own fans.

While it's clear that Liverpool manager nor his players were consulted on the matter - as Klopp reiterated before the kick-off against Leeds - clearly this protesting saxophonist thought they were an appropriate target for the ills of the club's owners, as he unleashed the 1976 hit.

When Liverpool finally arrived at the ground - presumably the squad humming ABBA as one - they were greeted by Leeds players warming up in 'Champions League: Earn It' T-shirts. Another dig at the Super League, which will be in part a closed shop protecting the biggest clubs.

Klopp revealed pre-match that some of the T-shirts had been left in the away dressing room and it was this - rather than the message on the T-shirts - that angered the LFC coach.

The 53-year-old claimed on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show that nobody needed to tell Liverpool or their players that a place in the Champions League had to be earned on the pitch.

Before the Monday night game between Leeds and Liverpool, fans of both clubs joined forces to protest the Super League - which was announced on Sunday with 12 founding members, including six from the Premier League.

The 12 founding teams involved in the Super League include six from the Premier League. Liverpool are joined by Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.

The English clubs are joined by a trio from Serie A in AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus; as well as three from La Liga: Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

There has been a widespread backlash against the decision with UEFA threatening to sanction the teams involved, while football fans have largely turned on the clubs involved.

There has been on word on an official anthem for the competition.

But we strongly believe that 'Money, Money, Money' would be a fine option to replace the Champions League theme as ideal music before Super League kick-offs.
